Murals (click here for photos)
The most notable accomplishments so far would be the murals that have started to appear
around Cut Bank. Two have been completed so far, and more are on the way.
The first painting "When Lewis Meets the Blackfeet" is located on the corner of Main
Street and Central Avenue, was created by artist Gary Kerby of Wilsall, Montana during the
Lewis and Clark Festival in July of 2000. It depicts the meeting of Captain Meriwether Lewis
and the Blackfeet Indians on July 26, 1806.
The second painting "When Oil Was King" pictures the early history of the oil boom in
Cut Bank and Glacier County. This was painted in 2001 by talented artist Tim Joyner, a long
time resident of Cut Bank. This mural is located on the side of the Frisbee, Moore and Olson
building, located at 13 East Main St.
A limited number of signed and numbered prints have been made available for sale.
The original painting is now on display at "Le Mitre Box" at 19 South Central Avenue in
Cut Bank. You can place orders for this print by calling Kim Stoltz at 873-3032.
Revitalization Banners
Revitalize Cut Bank Banners were purchased and put up on light poles around Cut Bank.
They were removed to put up the Christmas decorations, and should go back up again
when the weather permits.
Community Carnival - fund raiser
The Revitalization Society put on their first Community Carnival - fund raiser in 2000.
There was games and prizes for children of all ages, and it was a fun evening for the
entire family. There was something for everyone and all had a good time.
Wine and Hors d'oeuvres Tasting - fund raiser
To help fund the murals project, the Revitalization Society has sponsored the Wine and
Hors d'oeuvres Tasting - fund raiser for the past two years. Tickets for the event are sold early
and at the door. Door prizes and live auctions are part of the events. Items for auction include
a variety of items made and contributed by community members. A great time for everyone.
Revitalize Cut Bank - Tee Shirts
Revitalize Cut Bank - Tee Shirts have been made available to help finance the
Revitalization Society's projects.
